Double Ended M/F Kubilay has been delivered toIzmir Metropolitan Municipality.
Çeksan Shipyard has delivered the last of three sister ships; the 79m double-ended M/F Kubilay to Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. The car ferry named M/F Kubilay, built by Çeksan Shipyard for the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, was launched today. The third of three ferries built by Çeksan Shipyard in Yalova for the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the car ferry named M/F Kubilay, was launched. The M/F Kubilay, the third of the ferries built by Çeksan Shipyard for the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, is 71 meters long, 18 meters wide, and has a capacity to carry 70 vehicles. The ferry is an environmentally friendly double ended ferry with two bridges, each with an engine and propeller on both sides. The M/F Kubilay is 30% more fuel-efficient and significantly faster than older ferries in Izmir. The ship, built by Çeksan Shipyard, is environmentally friendly and will be delivered to the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in the coming months.
Features of M/F Kubilay:
- All decks and passenger lounges are designed to be accessible to passengers with physical disabilities, visual impairments, and passengers with baby strollers.
- Warning and directional signs in necessary locations are written in raised Braille alphabet so that visually impaired passengers can read them.
- The decks and lounges have flooring suitable for use by visually impaired passengers.
- The passenger lounge has connection equipment to secure wheelchairs, allowing wheelchair users to travel safely.
- There are a total of 2 elevators suitable for disabled passengers on the starboard and port sides of the ship, between decks, to allow disabled, elderly, and passengers with baby strollers to move around.
- A baby changing table is available.
- The ship is equipped with 3 separate pet cages so that passengers can carry their cats and large dogs.
- There is an enclosed play area for children aged 2–5 in the passenger lounge on the ship.
- There are 10 bicycle and 10 motorcycle parking spaces on the ship.
- There will be a total of 5 toilets: 2 for women, 2 for men, and 1 for disabled passengers.
- The ships will also have snack bars and vending machines selling cold and hot beverages.
- Passengers will be informed via screens through the fleet information support system. TV broadcasts will also be available on board.
